The Journey

For our founder Sarah McDonald, losing her health was the ultimate catalyst for the creation of Noosa Ozone Studio. For over two decades Sarah had battled with a range of health ailments, from Crohn's Disease to Interstitial Cystitis. However, it was in 2015 when Sarah’s health took a drastic turn for the worse following an appendicitis. Her Crohn's intensified, her dietary choices became severely restricted, and she experienced significant weight loss. Despite exploring various conventional medications and therapies, Sarah’s health continued to deteriorate, leaving her feeling increasingly desperate for a solution.

By this point Sarah had embraced holistic health practices, having felt disappointed by conventional medical approaches on numerous occasions. Despite her earnest efforts with supplements, lifestyle changes, and dietary modifications, she found herself still struggling to find relief.

Sarah then explored more intensive natural healing methods, including water fasting, daily enemas, and a strict nine-month regimen of eating only fruits and taking multiple liquid herbs daily, all under the guidance of a detox practitioner. However, despite her best efforts, these approaches didn’t provide the solution to her health issues.

While Sarah witnessed others experiencing remarkable healing from these radical protocols, she remained unwell, fearful, and unsure of what to do next. She reminded herself that no single approach works for everyone, but still felt lost and overwhelmed by the uncertainty of her situation, unsure of how to move forward or where to seek help.

Now housebound and incapable of fulfilling her roles as a mother and wife, Sarah spiralled into a state of depression and withdrawal. Each day brought with it a heavy burden of guilt and sadness as she struggled to find joy in life, often questioning if this bleak reality marked the end of her journey. It was undeniably one of the darkest periods she had ever experienced.

One day, a friend gave Sarah a book called ‘When the Body Says No: Understanding the Stress-Disease Connection’ by Dr Gabor Maté; M.D. This book proved to be a revelation for Sarah. She found herself drawn to its exploration of the intricate relationship between the mind and body and the manifestation of various conditions and diseases. As she delved into its pages, Sarah experienced a profound shift in perspective.

For the next three months Sarah immersed herself in many books and podcasts based on similar theories; that past and present experiences and thoughts control your current reality. Some of Sarah’s favourite teachers were Dr Joe Dispenza, Dr Bruce Lipton, Gregg Braden, Dr. Deepak Chopra, Louise Hay, Derek Rydall, and Sarita Sol.

For the first time, Sarah began to unravel the tangible link between her ongoing health struggles and the unresolved traumas of her past. This newfound awareness led her to recognise the profound impact her unhealed childhood wounds had on her physical well-being. Sarah believed that by addressing these past traumas, she could pave the way for physical healing. This realisation marked the beginning of a transformative journey of self-discovery for Sarah that would ultimately reshape her life in profound and unforeseen ways.

In the past Sarah had previously sought help from counsellors, but she often found the experience to be unsettling, as it seemed to open up unresolved issues without providing closure. However, when Sarah learned about Psych-K, a transformative technique that integrates principles from neuroscience, psychology, and kinesiology (the study of body movement), she felt drawn to explore it further. This innovative approach involves using muscle testing, a form of biofeedback, to engage with the subconscious mind to identify limiting beliefs from past traumas. Once these beliefs are identified, Psych-K uses specific processes to reprogram the subconscious mind with new empowering beliefs. After just a few sessions, Sarah experienced remarkable changes physically and emotionally. She was able to confront and resolve past traumas, resulting in a profound emotional and physical release. Simultaneously, Sarah incorporated guided meditation into her life and began to manifest (envision) a future filled with health and happiness.

Shortly thereafter, Sarah received some alarming test results from her Naturopath.  Despite this news, Sarah made a conscious decision to maintain her sense of hope and optimism. Instead of succumbing to feelings of worry and fear as she had in the past, she chose to affirm to herself and the universe, "That this is merely a small bump in the road to my journey to perfect health." Drawing upon the principle that ‘the mind and the body are not separate entities, but they are part of one system and that when we change our perception, we change the chemistry of our body’. Sarah chose to believe she had perfect health sending this belief out into the universe and not allowing her past experiences to control her current reality.

A few weeks later, Sarah crossed paths with a woman who happened to own a state-of-the-art HOCATT™. After sharing her story, Sarah was invited to try the sauna. Enthusiastic about the technology she began twice weekly sessions. It didn’t take long before Sarah experienced even further positive changes to her health, so significant that she made the sessions a top priority in her healthcare routine.

It is from this profound personal journey that Noosa Ozone Studio was born—a testament to Sarah's holistic approach to health and wellness and her desire to share the transformative power of the HOCATT™ with others.
